Jaychele Schenck

Young Voices

My name is Jaychele Schenck, and I am 15 years old. I am a key member of the youth organization, Young Voices. I am the youngest person on the board, and also the Co-Chair of the Fund Development Committee. I speak at rallies, meet with government officials, testify at the statehouse, and etc.currently sit on the only Student-Centered Learning policy table in Rhode Island ran by Kids Count. I am a member of March for Our Lives RI and I helped to organize their rally at the statehouse. Young Voices released a policy brief in partnership with the Women’s Fund at the RI Statehouse and my speech was recorded and quote in the Providence Journal. I started my own women empowerment nonprofit when I was 12 years old. I am also a published poet and spoken word performer.
